PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a 55-year-old man who allegedly slashed another person in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, over a long-standing disagreement.

Pasir Puteh police chief Zaizul Rizal Zakaria said they were alerted to the incident at Kampung Kulim in Cherang Ruku, Pasir Puteh, by a member of the public around 6.35pm yesterday.

He said the suspect was the stepbrother of the victim’s mother.

The 44-year-old victim suffered severe injuries and was sent to Hospital Tengku Anis for treatment.

“Investigations found that the incident resulted from a long-standing disagreement between the suspect and the victim,” he said, adding that the suspect was swiftly arrested.

The case is being probed under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.
