Citing its Subnational Statistics: Parliament and State Legislative Assembly report released today, the department said Bangi is followed by Kota Raja in Selangor with 550,600 residents and Subang with 503,300.

At the state seat level, Kota Iskandar in Johor recorded the highest population at 323,400, followed by Kota Anggerik in Selangor (308,100) and Bukit Lanjan (303,900).

In a statement, the department said that in terms of ethnicity, the parliamentary constituencies of Setiu, Jeli, and Hulu Terengganu were found to have the highest share of Malay and Bumiputera residents, each exceeding 99.4%.

Kepong in Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest Chinese population share at 72.4%, followed by Tanjong (71.2%) and Bukit Bendera (69.2%).

Ipoh Barat in Perak recorded the largest Indian community at 26%. Other constituencies with significant Indian populations include Sungai Siput, Kuala Langat and Port Dickson, each exceeding 18%.

Separately, the department noted that parliamentary seats in Selangor continue to lead in terms of economic establishments, with Subang recording the most establishments at 32,898, followed by Petaling Jaya (31,910) and Damansara (29,743).
