TENOM (Sabah): Police did not find any pornographic materials in several digital devices at the home of Ebit Erawan Ibrahim Lew or Ebit Lew, the investigating officer told the magistrates’ court here today.
Noor Asyikin Shamsuri, 46, said she went to the house on Aug 19, 2021, accompanied by a photographer and a forensic team to inspect a computer and several mobile phones for any pornographic elements.
“Following the inspection, we did not find any pornographic materials, and there were no other telephones in the house,” she said in Lew’s trial on a sexual harassment charge.
She said the photographer took 34 photos in Lew’s house and a photo of the house’s electricity bill.
Noor Asyikin said that she had previously instructed police officer Ashraf Chai Abdullah to seek access to Lew’s WhatsApp account as part of the investigation.
“It was to obtain details of WhatsApp account users and call logs,” she said when asked by deputy public prosecutor Nor Azizah Mohamad.
Lew, represented by Ram Singh, Kamarudin Mohmad Chinki and Prabjit Singh Gill, faces 11 charges, including insulting the modesty of a woman in her 40s by sending her obscene text and pictures via WhatsApp between March and June 2021.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years’ jail or a fine or both on conviction.
The hearing continues on Nov 3-4.
