Bernama quoted an MACC source as saying the woman, in her 50s, was arrested at about 4pm yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur MACC office when she turned up to provide her statement.
“A preliminary investigation found that the woman, an employee of a statutory body, is suspected of colluding with another female suspect previously arrested by the commission on Sunday.
“She is believed to have colluded with the first suspect to enable the statutory body to approve the applications,” the source said.
Kuala Lumpur MACC director Zakkuan Talib confirmed the latest arrest, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009 for corruptly soliciting or accepting gratification.
The first suspect is believed to be involved in bribery with a syndicate behind the misappropriation of zakat funds.
The woman, in her 30s, was reported as having allegedly solicited and received about RM2,500 in bribes in March through her company’s bank account.
