PETALING JAYA:
Kelantan police opened 25 investigation papers on bullying cases in schools in the state from January to September.

Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said today six cases were reported in Kota Bharu, five in Pasir Mas, four each in Machang and Bachok, three in Tumpat, two in Kuala Krai, and one in Tanah Merah.

He said bullying could be investigated under Sections 507B to 507G of the Penal Code (Act 574), which came into force on July 11.

“Bullying is not just a mistake that can be taken lightly. It is not just a disciplinary mistake, but a social disease,” Bernama reported him as saying at SMK Ismail Petra in Kota Bharu today.

Yusoff also said some drug dealers in Kelantan were flaunting their opulent lifestyles on social media to lure teenagers into becoming small-time distributors.

He said police have received information about several dealers who showed off their luxury homes and cars online.
