Yap Shing Xuen, 16, was fatally stabbed at her school last Tuesday. The suspect, who was her schoolmate, was arrested on the same day.
Police said they seized two sharp weapons found in the suspect’s possession, believed to have been used in the attack.
Investigations found that the knife and the kerambit – a small curved knife – were purchased online.
The post-mortem determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds.
Earlier today, Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said the magistrates’ court had granted a remand order to detain the suspect for another week.
