The Selangor fire and rescue department said the incident occurred near Pekan Kapar at about 9am.
“All the victims had exited their vehicles before the firemen arrived and were handed over to medical personnel for treatment,” it said in a statement.
A 23-second dashcam recording of the incident, which went viral, showed the traffic light turning green as the garbage truck and several cars began to move.
However, the tipper lorry, coming from the left, failed to stop and rammed into the moving vehicles.
The department earlier said four people were injured, identifying them as three male foreign nationals and a 34-year-old local woman.
In a report by Kosmo, police later confirmed that six people were injured in total, identifying one of them as the tipper lorry’s driver, a 35-year-old local man.
