KUALA LUMPUR:
A Kelantan goalkeeping trainer has been suspended for the 2025/26 season for punching a Selangor player during a Kings Gold Cup (Piala Emas Raja-Raja) match on Oct 12.

Malay Football Association of Malaysia (PBMM) secretary-general Nazeri Hussin said the disciplinary and safety committee met on Oct 14 to review the official report from the Selangor vs Kelantan fixture that turned chaotic.

Following the meeting, Wan Kamaluzaman Mohammed was given an immediate suspension.

“The Division 5 match between Selangor and Kelantan saw both teams issued warnings. The Kelantan goalkeeping trainer, who was found to have punched a Selangor player, is suspended from participating in any association matches for 2025/2026.

“Any form of violence, provocation or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated,” Buletin TV3 reported Nazeri as saying.

Videos of the Oct 12 incident have circulated on social media, showing players shoving each other and throwing punches as officials and team staff attempt to calm them.
