
He said the party had already listed several candidates to contest, but negotiations are still ongoing among component parties within Pakatan Harapan (PH), including the allocation of seats.
“Indeed, we (Amanah), through PH, are cooperating with friends from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and also Barisan Nasional in holding negotiations (on seat division),” he said.
Adly, who is also deputy defence minister, spoke to reporters after the graduation ceremony and launch of the Armed Forces Fund Board’s Wira Entrepreneur Empowerment Programme at the Butterworth air base here today.
Adly, however, did not disclose the number of seats Amanah would be contesting but confirmed that the candidates are locals with close ties to the community.
Yesterday, the Election Commission set Nov 29 as the polling day for the Sabah state election, while the nomination date is set for Nov 15. Early voting will take place on Nov 25.
The Sabah legislative assembly has 79 seats, with 73 of them being contested. The other six are appointed state assemblymen.
