List of PH candidates for Sabah polls to be announced early next month

Pakatan Harapan intends to contest 23 of the 73 state seats in the 17th Sabah state election.

Sabah PKR leadership council chairman Mustapha Sakmud said the full list of candidates will be announced early next month, Bernama reported.

He said the candidates will comprise a blend of experienced politicians and newcomers, technocrats and former civil servants, as well as branch-level leaders.

“So far, we’ve been informed that 21 to 23 seats will be allocated to PH.

“The final list of approved candidates will be announced by prime minister and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in early November,” he told reporters after the Higher Education Language Festival at Universiti Teknologi Mara in Shah Alam today.

Mustapha, who also serves as deputy higher education minister, said PH’s machinery is well-prepared to secure victories in the upcoming polls.

The Election Commission today announced that nominations for the Sabah state election will be held on Nov 15, with early voting set for Nov 25 and polling on Nov 29.

The Sabah state assembly was dissolved on Oct 6. It has 79 seats, with 73 elected and six appointed members.
