Mechanic in Terengganu claims trial to raping Form 1 student

He faces up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping if found guilty.

PETALING JAYA:
A mechanic pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Terengganu sessions court today to a charge of raping a Form 1 student in March last year.

Harian Metro reported that Tuan Saufi Nizam Tuan Rusok @ Tuan Yusoff entered his plea before judge Zul Zakiqudin Zulkifli.

Tuan Saufi is charged with raping the girl, who was 13 years and six months old during the time of the incident, in March last year at a house in Chendering, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, at around 3am.

He was charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping if convicted.

The court set bail at RM15,000, with the additional conditions that the accused report to a police station once a month and stay away from the witnesses until the disposal of the case.

It also set Nov 18 for the case to be mentioned again. Deputy public prosecutor Nur Nabihah Hanim Ayim appeared for the prosecution.
