Klang Selatan police chief Ramli Kasa said the incident took place at about 6.30am when the motorcycle ridden by the 28-year-old suspect grazed a car driven by a 55-year-old man.
He said the driver stopped to inspect his vehicle before getting into an argument with the suspect, Berita Harian reported.
“The suspect acted aggressively and threw a can of alcoholic drink at the complainant, who managed to dodge it. The driver then contacted the police for assistance,” he said.
When the police arrived, the suspect tried to flee on his motorcycle and nearly rammed into the complainant in the process.
“During the arrest, a scuffle broke out, and the suspect punched a police officer in the face. He was eventually subdued, and his motorcycle was seized to assist in the investigation,” Ramli said in a statement.
He said a check showed the motorcyclist had a record for a drug-related offence. He has been remanded for three days to assist in the investigation under Sections 279 and 353 of the Penal Code for reckless or negligent riding on a public road and using criminal force against a public servant.
“The investigating officer is completing the investigation paper, which will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor’s office soon,” he said.
