PETALING JAYA:
Heads of departments have been authorised to approve work-from-home requests from civil servants living within a 25km radius of their offices who are expected to be affected by traffic congestion during the Asean Summit at the end of the month.

The public services department (JPA) said eligible civil servants were encouraged to consult their head of department for the appropriate consideration.

JPA said the work-from-home policy aims to strike a balance between the operational needs of government agencies and the well-being of civil servants, particularly in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The 47th Asean Summit and related meetings, scheduled to take place from Oct 26 to Oct 28 in Kuala Lumpur, are expected to be among the largest ever hosted by the regional bloc.
