
Judge Musyiri Peet sentenced the mother to eight years in prison on the first of two amended charges involving her 12-year-old daughter, and another six years on the second charge related to her son, who was seven at the time.
The judge ordered the jail sentences to run consecutively, The Borneo Post reported.
On the first charge, she was accused of permitting her boyfriend to sexually abuse her daughter at a rented house in Sibu between January 2024 and July 2025.
According to the facts of the case, the woman had asked the girl to enter a room before blocking the door so that her boyfriend could rape her daughter.
The woman was also charged with neglecting her son in a manner likely to cause him emotional injury by failing to register his birth and sending him to school.
She was accused of committing the offence between January 2018 and December 2023 at a rented house in another location in Sibu.
The charges under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 are each punishable by a maximum fine of RM50,000, imprisonment of up to 20 years, or both, upon conviction.
