Minister Nga Kor Ming said the ministry maintains an “open heart, open mind and open door” policy and is reviewing feedback from Umno’s recent convention and other public dialogues.
“I welcome all reasonable views and constructive feedback. These will be taken into account when we draft any act or legislation because our intention and purpose are sincere and noble,” he told reporters after the National Housing Convention in Ipoh today.
“If the suggestions are practical and beneficial, I will make amendments to the bill before tabling it in Parliament so that we can fulfil this noble mission.”
A PAS-led rally against the proposed URA converged today with a pro-Palestinian protest in solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla to Israel, drawing hundreds outside the Sogo shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.
The bill had faced stiff resistance in the Dewan Rakyat in August, with Barisan Nasional and seven PKR MPs joining the opposition in blocking its passage.
Debate on the bill is due to resume when the Dewan Rakyat reconvenes on Monday.
