Raduan thanked Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for their decision to clear him of the alleged offences, Berita Harian reported.
“I appreciate the prosecution’s openness towards considering the arguments I presented and re-evaluating the case facts,” he was quoted as saying.
He claimed that the charges levelled against him were baseless and had tarnished his credibility, image and dignity as the MPN president and an academic.
“Nonetheless, I have always been confident that the truth would prevail,” he said.
Raduan demanded that the parties responsible for filing the charges against him take responsibility and apologise. “At the same time, I will review my legal rights under the framework of our justice system.”
In August 2024, Raduan and MPN Global Reach Sdn Bhd CEO Kefli Mahpol claimed trial to seven counts of CBT involving RM271,000 of the council’s money.
Raduan, who was previously chairman of Universiti Teknologi Mara’s board of directors, was also charged in his capacity as a director of MPN Global Reach.
The funds were downpayments for a programme MPN Global Reach was holding with UKMShape, an entity of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Raduan later submitted representations to the AGC to drop the charges, which he described as “absurd”.
