PETALING JAYA:
A man was killed after being pinned beneath a trailer in a seven-vehicle collision in front of Masjid Sabak Uni, Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat, in Ayer Hitam, Johor, this morning.

Batu Pahat fire and rescue department operations commander Hafizul Adzrin said his department received an emergency call at 10.19am.

“Upon arrival, we found a trailer had lost control and crashed into six other vehicles, involving a total of 12 victims,” Bernama reported him as saying.

Three people in a lorry, three in an SUV, and one in a second lorry were among those injured. Four other victims, including the trailer driver, escaped unharmed.

“One car driver was found trapped after his vehicle became wedged under the trailer. We used a crane and specialised tools to extricate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene,” said Hafizul.

The victim’s body was handed over to the police, while those injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
