Serdang police chief Farid Ahmad said the suspects were picked up in Puchong and Shah Alam, and that three motorcycles were seized.
“Six of the suspects are minors. All suspects were remanded by the Petaling Jaya magistrates’ court today for four days until Oct 3,” he said in a statement.
Farid said the 52-year-old Myvi driver had paused by the roadside to make a phone call when the group of motorcyclists approached.
“One rider asked the driver’s friend if they were police, then the gang pursued the car, kicking it and causing damage to the side mirror,” he said.
Yesterday, Farid said police were searching for the motorcyclists after the incident was reported by the Myvi driver at about 10pm.
The 29-second clip of the incident which went viral shows the motorcyclists closing in on both sides of the Myvi, and one rider punching the driver’s window and kicking the car door, causing a side mirror to shatter.
The case is being investigated under Sections 279 and 427 of the Penal Code for reckless driving and mischief causing loss.
