PETALING JAYA:
A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy public prosecutor arrested last Tuesday in connection with a drug case has been transferred to the Attorney-General’s Chambers until the investigation is completed.

Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar said the DPP is not allowed to carry out any duty.

“Further action will be taken after the probe is done,” Berita Harian reported him as saying in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, today.

On Sept 24, MACC confirmed the arrest of the DPP who had reported for duty at the anti-graft agency just the week before.

MACC said the officer was arrested by police at his home the day before, after a search uncovered substances believed to be drugs.

Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan said the case is being investigated under Sections 12(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 pertaining to possession and consumption of drugs.
