A 46-year-old man was arrested at KLIA Terminal 1 last night for attempting to smuggle a gibbon and two cuscuses estimated to be worth RM20,000 to Mumbai.

The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency said the man was arrested at 8.10pm and is being investigated under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 and the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008.

The animals have been handed over to the wildlife and national parks department’s KLIA office for further action.
