KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have arrested two men suspected of being involved in a syndicate distributing herbal drinks laced with MDMA in a raid on an apartment on Jalan Yap Kwan Seng last Thursday.

Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said they also uncovered various types of drugs valued at RM251,000 in the raid carried out at about 10.20pm.

The seizure included 239kg of liquid suspected to contain MDMA in 503 bottles, 298g of MDMA powder, 20g of Erimin 5 and 19.6g of ketamine.

That amount can be used by 3,631 drug addicts.

Sulizmie said both suspects, aged 30 and 32, tested positive for ketamine. One has a conviction for a drug offence.

Both have been remanded for further investigations.

Police also seized two vehicles worth RM50,000, and RM140 in cash believed to be the proceeds from drug distribution activities.

Sulizmie said the syndicate is believed to have been targeting entertainment centres across the Klang Valley and had been operating since early this year, renting apartments through online platforms to use as drug processing locations.

“Both men arrested acted as couriers and were paid RM100 for each delivery. We are tracing other members of the syndicate,” he said.
