PETALING JAYA:
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has granted leave to a marketing firm to challenge the Petaling Jaya City Council’s (MBPJ) order to remove one of its billboards along the Federal Highway.

Danwan Corporation Sdn Bhd said the court also stayed MBPJ’s enforcement of its Aug 29 notice directing the billboard’s removal under the Advertisement (MBPJ) By-Laws 2007.

The matter will now be resolved in court, Danwan director Stanley Ho said in a statement today.

He dismissed media reports claiming the billboard was put up illegally, stressing that it was built on a road reserve bordering the federal road under a licence from the works ministry.

“We believe any claims suggesting the billboard was erected without approval are wholly incorrect and misleading,” he said.
