
PETALING JAYA: A police officer was charged at the Seremban magistrates’ court with discharging a firearm without lawful purpose earlier this month.
Izzat Fitri Hashim, 37, pleaded not guilty before magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli after the charge was read out to him.
According to the charge sheet, he was accused of firing a shot with a black Tara Aerospace TM-9C pistol, Sinar Harian reported.
The incident allegedly took place at about 2.30am at a food stall along Jalan BPS 2, Bandar Prima Senawang, on Sept 8.
Izzat was charged under Section 39 of the Firearms Act 1960 for unauthorised discharge of the weapon, an offence punishable under Section 43 of the same Act.
The court set bail at RM2,500 with one surety and fixed Feb 25 next year for mention.
