PETALING JAYA:
Three men were arrested yesterday following a high-speed car chase which involved five police vehicles late at night.

Klang Selatan police chief Ramli Kasa said a patrol team had spotted the vehicle, a black Proton Waja, being driven suspiciously near the Jalan Kebun roundabout in Klang at about 11.15pm.

The patrol car signalled the vehicle to stop, but it suddenly sped off, triggering a chase that ended in Bandar Sentosa, Klang, where the trio were arrested.

“An inspection of the car found a parang and a pair of gloves, which were seized,” Ramli said in a statement.

He said the suspects, aged between 31 and 42, have a criminal record; the driver alone has a record of 23 criminal offences and 11 drug-related offences.

Ramli said the Klang magistrates’ court has allowed a four-day remand for the suspects.
