PETALING JAYA:
Persana Avril Sollunda, the woman charged in June with posting a fake marriage certificate on TikTok claiming she was married to Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, is fit to be tried in court, the sessions court heard today.

Deputy public prosecutor Izzat Amir Idham informed the court of this after receiving the forensic psychiatric report for Persana, 43.

“Based on this report, the accused is fit to be tried in court,” Utusan Malaysia reported him as saying.

Lawyer Jefvinder Singh, representing Persana, said the defence would study the case documents before filing representation.

Judge Suhaila Haron set Oct 13 for the case to be mentioned again, and Dec 3 to 5 for trial.

On July 22, Persana was ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment and evaluation for a month at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Tanjung Rambutan.

Judge Norma Ismail issued the order after allowing an application by deputy public prosecutor Ravendejit Kaur for a mental health report of Persana.

Persana previously pleaded not guilty to knowingly uploading a post containing an image of a fake marriage certificate purportedly between Tunku Ismail and a certain “Crown Princess” Ratu Shana.

She was said to have committed the offence on Feb 25, using a TikTok account under the name “king.charles.ratu”.

She was charged under Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the improper use of network communications, punishable under Section 233(3) of the same Act which provides for a fine of up to RM500,000, up to two years’ imprisonment or both, upon conviction.
