PETALING JAYA:
The girlfriend of the man whose two children drowned in a car in Sungai Linggi at Tanjung Agas in Port Dickson last week has been released on bail and will be called as a prosecution witness.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said only the children’s father has been charged in the Seremban sessions court with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, Harian Metro reported.

“The woman was released on a bond under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code and will serve as a prosecution witness,” he was quoted as saying at a press conference today.

The siblings, aged six and eight, drowned after their parked car rolled into the river on Sept 4.

Earlier today, their father, Abdul Rahman Mahmud, 46, had claimed trial and was denied bail.
