
PETALING JAYA: A school principal was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today on suspicion of misappropriating funds from a foundation meant to assist the B40 group through the MyKasih programme in Selangor.
The principal is alleged to have misappropriated about RM16,000 from a charitable NGO established to provide food, education and training for the poor, Berita Harian reported.
She will be charged at the Shah Alam sessions court tomorrow, according to Selangor MACC director Azwan Ramli.
The suspect, in her 50s, was summoned to the Selangor MACC office to give her statement earlier today, after which she was arrested.
The case was investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 for abuse of power for personal gain.
