Y Sayrran Kumar, 21, Thineshwaran, 30, G Niresh Pillai, 21, and K Kumar, 40, entered their pleas after the charges were read to them before judge Surita Budin.

They were accused of raping the girl at a house at Taman Meranti Bahau in Jempol between 11am and 3.30pm on Aug 23, Harian Metro reported.

The four were charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years’ jail and whipping, upon conviction.

Sayrran Kumar was also charged with raping the girl in June in the back seat of a car at Padang Taman ACBE in Jempol.

Sayrran Kumar and Niresh Pillai were represented by lawyer Revin Kumar; Kumar was represented by S Virochean; and Thineshwaran by Ramzani Idris.

The lawyers applied for minimal bail citing their clients’ financial and health problems.

She also said the victim was an acquaintance of the accused.

The court set bail of RM30,000 for the charges against Sayrran Kumar, while bail for Kumar and Thineshwaran was set at RM10,000 each, and Niresh Pillai at RM5,000.

The four were ordered to refrain from contacting witnesses, to report to the police station once a month, and surrender their passports to the court.

The court set Oct 15 for remention of the case and submission of documents.
