Another earthquake hits Segamat

This follows the 4.1-magnitude earthquake that shook Segamat on Sunday.

PETALING JAYA:
A weak 3.2-magnitude earthquake was detected in Segamat, Johor, this morning – the second in less than a week.

The Malaysian meteorological department (MetMalaysia) said the quake occurred about 18km south of Segamat at a depth of 10km.

MetMalaysia said tremors were felt in Johor and southern Pahang, and that it would continue to monitor the situation.

Two earthquakes were reported in Segamat and Kluang on Sunday.

The first earthquake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck Segamat at 6.13am. A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was detected in Kluang at around 9am.

The tremors were felt in several parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Pahang.

No property damage or casualties were reported.
