PETALING JAYA:
It is unacceptable for anyone to exploit children for online content, says women, family and community development minister Nancy Shukri.

She said this after social media users raised concerns over several posts involving a man and his daughter.

In a post on X, Nancy said she viewed seriously the issue involving a man who was managing his daughter’s social media account.

“Even though it is (managed) by parents, such exploitation is improper,” she said.

Nancy thanked netizens who reported the matter to the social welfare department and the child development department.

“We will always prioritise the safety and welfare of children,” she said.

Several social media users have taken issue with some of the posts that had been uploaded, with some labelling the behaviour as a “red flag”.

They also shared screenshots of the content that they deemed inappropriate.
