Mosque caretaker claims trial to raping daughter

PETALING JAYA:
A mosque caretaker claimed trial in the Kota Bharu sessions court today for raping his daughter five years ago.

The accused, 51, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him before judge Zulkifli Abllah, Buletin TV3 reported.

He is accused of raping his daughter, who was then 13, at a house in Kuala Krai at about 10pm on Aug 25, 2020.

The charge was framed under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of between 10 and 30 years, as well as whipping, upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Faiz Fitri Mohamad appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was represented by lawyer Mohd Taufikrullah Rusli.

The court fixed Sept 21 for mention of the case. No bail was granted.
