PETALING JAYA: An unemployed man has been charged at the magistrates’ court in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, with the murder of his 74-year-old father.
No plea was recorded after the charge was read to Narosman Othman before magistrate Amal Razim Alias as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Narosman, 39, was accused of killing his father, Othman Juseh, between 6am and 6.30am last Wednesday at a house in Kampung Kuala Gris, Dabong, Berita Harian reported.
The elderly man was believed to have been beaten to death with a blunt object.
Police prosecuting officer Hafiz Iman Asri handled the prosecution while Narosman was unrepresented.
The magistrate ordered for Narosman to be sent for a psychiatric evaluation and fixed Sept 10 for case mention.
