KUALA LUMPUR:
A 14-year-old student was detained by police after allegedly punching and threatening his teacher at a secondary school in Kajang on Monday.

Kajang police chief Naazron Yusof said the incident happened after the student became upset when a 29-year-old teacher reprimanded him for skipping a physical education class.

“A scuffle then broke out between the suspect and the victim before the student punched the teacher in the face and threatened him.

“The incident was witnessed by several other teachers and students. The teacher lodged a police report at around 7.15pm on Monday and the suspect was later detained in the Kajang area,” he said in a statement today.

Naazron said the student would be charged at the Kajang magistrates’ court on July 30 under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
