PETALING JAYA:
The mother of a six-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered is currently recovering in hospital after attempting to take her own life following the child’s death.

Johor women, family and community development committee chairman Khairin-Nisa Ismail said the social welfare department had sent officers offering psychological assistance to the family yesterday but that they were turned down.

“We have been made to understand that M Tishant’s mother tried to take her own life and has been sent to hospital for treatment,” she said, according to Utusan Malaysia.

She added that they were awaiting a medical report on the mother to determine what forms of aid, in addition to psychological support, could be provided to the family.

Tishant, who was reported missing at Taman Bukit Indah in Johor on July 24, was found buried in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, four days later.

The child’s body was discovered after his 36-year-old father was arrested. An autopsy found that he had been strangled to death with a cable tie.

Police investigations also found that the suspect was in the process of separating from his wife.
