PETALING JAYA: The air quality in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, and Miri, Sarawak, is at unhealthy levels as of 10.30am today.
The environment department recorded an air pollutant index reading of 131 in Cheras and 124 in Miri.
The air quality in the rest of the country remains mostly at moderate levels.
An index figure of below 50 indicates good air quality, 51-100 moderate, 101-200 unhealthy, 201-300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous.
The department previously said the deterioration in air quality was influenced by the movement of smoke and haze entering the west coast region of the country from Indonesia.
