Aznee Osman, an administrative assistant at a government department in Kuala Lumpur, entered the plea after the charge was read to him before magistrate Farah Nabihah Dan at the Kuala Lumpur magistrates’ court.
According to the charge sheet, he is accused of insulting the modesty of a 23-year-old female intern by asking her to shave his pubic hair at the department’s office in Kuala Lumpur at 1.58pm on April 4, reported Sinar Harian.
Aznee, 37, was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code and faces up to five years’ jail, a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Prosecuting officer M Alli Nangai proposed that bail be set at RM5,000.
However, a lawyer from the National Legal Aid Foundation representing Aznee appealed for minimum bail.
“His wife is unemployed and they have three children, one of whom is disabled,” said the lawyer.
After hearing submissions from both sides, the court allowed Aznee bail of RM2,500 with one surety.
Farah also ordered the accused not to harass witnesses, especially the victim, and set Sept 3 for the next case mention.
