First round exit for defending champs Sze Fei-Izzuddin at China Open

The top seeds lose to South Korea's world No 40 Kang Min Hyuk-Ki Dong Ju in three games.

Defending champions Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani crashed out of the China Open in the opening round today.

The world No 3 were eliminated by the 40th ranked South Korean pair Kang Min Hyuk-Ki Dong Ju.

The Malaysian duo, who were losing finalists at the Japan Open last week, lost 21-15, 15-21, 17-21 in the 56-minute match at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou.

This was the first encounter between the two pairs.

In the Japan Open final on Sunday, Sze Fei-Izzuddin failed to defend their title after losing to another South Korean pair, Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae, in the final.
