PETALING JAYA:
A motorcyclist suffered a neck injury after getting entangled with a kite string stretched across Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2 (MRR2) near Taman Tasik Metropolitan, Kepong.

The incident, which took place on Saturday evening, came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Zamzuri Isa said the 27-year-old victim was riding in the middle lane from Batu Caves towards Sri Damansara when the string caught around his body and neck before snapping.

“He managed to stop by the roadside and later sought treatment for burn injuries at a private clinic in Selayang,” he said in a statement today.

Fortunately, the victim did not fall off his motorcycle after his neck was snagged by the kite string.

The case is being investigated under Section 80 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with obstructions on the road.
