KUALA LUMPUR:
The National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) says it will not compromise or protect any staff involved in misconduct or breaches of integrity.

Its director-general, Ruslin Jusoh, said action would be taken against those found guilty, in accordance with the provisions of the law and the service code of conduct in force.

He was referring to an investigation by the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC), which revealed that a client at the narcotics addiction rehabilitation centre in Pahang was beaten and injured while undergoing rehabilitation there last year.

Another case of misconduct investigated by EAIC concerned AADK officers in Selangor who failed to take follow-up action after an individual tested positive for drugs at a public hospital.

Ruslin also reminded AADK staff to perform their duties with dedication and integrity while adhering to standard operating procedures, guidelines, and the director-general’s standing orders.

“AADK is committed to continuing close cooperation with the EAIC in efforts to strengthen good governance at the agency level, particularly in handling investigations into any complaints of misconduct and integrity issues among its staff,” he said.
