Bangkit Sabahan Secretariat adviser Zulkarnain Mahdar said about 10,000 participants were expected to attend the rally, making it one of the largest ever held in the state.
He claimed the gathering would involve more than 100 groups.
He said the rally, originally scheduled for June 21 and June 22, was cancelled in compliance with police advice to avoid overlapping with the Gempur Rasuah 2.0, a student-led protest organised by a group from Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
Zulkarnain, who is also Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia (G57) chairman, said a memorandum would be submitted to Hajiji after the rally, symbolising the people’s backing for him in the fight for Sabah’s rights and interests.
