PETALING JAYA:
An attempted robbery by four men armed with machetes was thwarted when one of the victims fired several shots at them.

The incident is believed to have occurred at a petrol station in Johor Bahru at about 12.10am yesterday, reported Kosmo!

A two-minute CCTV clip showed four masked men, each armed with a machete, exit a car and begin smashing the windows of another car at the parking lot.

A passenger in the second car fired several shots at the attackers, three of whom fled in their car while the fourth ran towards a road.

It is understood that there were three men in the second car. One got out and ran away, while the other two exited briefly before driving away.

Iskandar Puteri police chief M Kumarasan said police are investigating.
