PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian embassy in Jakarta is in talks with Indonesia’s foreign affairs ministry regarding a Malaysian citizen feared to be among those still missing after a passenger ferry capsized in the Bali Strait late on Wednesday night.

Fauzey Awang, 55, is believed to have been inside a tourist van that was also on board the ferry KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya when it capsized. It is understood that he was on his way back to Malaysia via Bali airport after taking a van from Ketapang in east Java.

The embassy said local authorities are in the process of verifying the whereabouts of the victim, and has contacted the victim’s family.
