PETALING JAYA:
An unemployed man was charged in the Shah Alam magistrates’ court with the murder of his housemate during an argument at a house in Sungai Buloh on June 25.

Faisal Abdul Aziz, 41, nodded after the charge was read out before magistrate Redza Azhar Reza, Sinar Harian reported.

No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Faisal is accused of murdering Fakhrullah Pauzihal Ali, 33, at the house in Kampung Batu Gajah, Sungai Pelong, Sungai Buloh, at about 11.26pm on June 25.

He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death penalty, or between 30 to 40 years in prison and a minimum of 12 strokes of the rotan upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Aliaanisa Khairus Masnan appeared for the prosecution while Faisal was not represented by a lawyer.

The court set Oct 1 for case mention and the submission of chemistry and pathology reports.

On June 27, the media reported that a man had been arrested for allegedly stabbing his friend to death at a house in Sungai Buloh.

The incident is believed to have stemmed from an argument between the two men over a messy room.
