PETALING JAYA:
A double-decker bus carrying passengers collided into the rear of a tow truck at KM311.4 of the North-South Expressway near Tapah today, marking the third reported incident of a bus crash this week.

Perak fire and rescue department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said they received a distress call on the incident at 1.28am.

“The nine passengers were not injured,” Utusan Malaysia reported him as saying.

He added that the tow truck driver and his passenger were also uninjured.

“Firefighters successfully extricated the bus driver, who suffered injuries to his right leg,” he said.

On Monday, a bus crash on the Gerik-Jeli East West Highway killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris students, triggering reactions nationwide from both the public and government on road safety.

The next day, an express bus carrying 28 passengers including 13 students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah rammed into the back of a trailer on KM161.6 of the East Coast Expressway. No injuries were reported.
