Mum, relative held after boy falls to death from 30th floor of condo

PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested the mother of a four-year-old boy who fell to his death from the 30th floor of a condominium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said a sibling of the woman was also arrested and that both have been remanded until today.

He said the boy died due to multiple injuries from the fall and that the cause of the incident has yet to be determined.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 covering ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment, or exposure of children to harm.

The body was sent to the forensic unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM for a post-mortem.

The case has been classified as a sudden death.

A 37-second video showing a man believed to be related to the victim crying by the boy’s body had gone viral.
