
In a post on X, Diallo said one of the fans in attendance had hurled abuse that targeted his mother, adding that he did not regret showing the gesture.
The Ivorian nonetheless said Malaysia has “good people” despite the fan’s actions, and that the United squad had enjoyed their time here.
“I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mum. I shouldn’t have reacted like that but I don’t regret what I did.
“We had a great time in Malaysia with good people,” he added.
The attacking midfielder featured in United’s friendly with the Asean All Stars yesterday, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for the English giants.
United, which finished 15th in the Premier League to mark its worst season since 1974, were booed by fans at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium after the match.
Malaysia was the club’s first stop in its post-season tour, with United now in Hong Kong.
