
PETALING JAYA: Ahmadshah Abdullah, who served as Sabah’s governor from 2003 to 2010, died this evening. He was 79.
In a brief statement, Sabah state secretary Safar Untong said Ahmadshah died at 8.45pm.
“The state government has announced a day of mourning and the Sabah flag will be flown at half mast,” Safar said.
Sabah finance minister Masidi Manjun said Ahmadshah died at KPJ Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.
Before succeeding Sakaran Dandai, Ahmadshah was the deputy state secretary.
