Zaliha said the allegation by the PKR deputy president was baseless.
In a video uploaded on social media, she said Rafizi had “not said anything” about the vendor when it was discussed at the central leadership council meeting.
“So why now, only after the completion of the divisional polls, is he disputing the appointment of the vendor? It just doesn’t sync,” she said.
She said Rafizi had only raised concerns about the auditor.
Zaliha’s remarks come an hour after PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh rubbished Rafizi’s claim.
Fuziah also said that Rafizi, who will be defending his post this weekend, did not object to the decision to use the new vendor at a meeting of the PKR central leadership which he attended.
“The vendor issue never arose and he never made an issue about who the vendor was or what they were doing,” she told FMT.
Rafizi’s claim about the appointment of the vendor comes a month after the party’s divisional elections, which saw several of his key allies losing. The same app will be used at the congress over the weekend.
Zaliha said the ADIL app was used after the 2022 party elections to manage membership.
She said that after Fuziah was appointed the party’s secretary-general last September, she had proposed improvements to the system, which included the integration of 26 additional modules.
“The decision to use the app in the 2025 party elections was made at both the political bureau and central leadership council meetings. There were minutes on this,” she said, adding that there were two meetings held on the matter.
During the second round of meetings, she said, a decision was made to proceed with an e-voting system using both online and physical components.
“Since the ADIL app had already been used for membership matters, it made sense to expand it with an additional module for the elections. Naturally, we continued with the same vendor who had worked on the membership system to improve the election module,” she said.
Zaliha said the voting system would be further upgraded for the party congress in Johor on May 23, especially as the elections for the central leadership would differ slightly in format.
“I urge everyone not to prolong this issue. The election committee will remain independent and we will ensure that the 2025 congress is conducted fairly and with integrity,” she said.
