KUALA LUMPUR:
Police will conduct a two-day simulation exercise for the Asean Summit starting tomorrow.

In a statement, Bukit Aman said the exercise would be carried out based on the planned movements of the leaders, involving main routes to and from the official conference venues around the capital.

“The exercise on May 21 involves the movement of Asean member states’ convoys, while May 22 will involve Gulf Cooperation Council member states,” the statement said.

The routes involved include those from their accommodation to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) between 7.30am and 9am; from KLCC to Istana Negara for the royal banquet between 11.30am and 1pm; and from hotels to the gala dinner venue between 6.30pm and 8pm.

Yesterday, it was reported that six highways and 25 main roads in the Klang Valley will be closed in stages from Friday until May 28, in conjunction with the summit.
