IPOH:
A storm in Ipoh this evening left eight houses at Lebuh Rajawali in Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Said Tambahan 2 damaged, although horrified residents were largely unharmed.

At Jalan St John, the roof of a garage collapsed on five people taking shelter there during the incident around 5pm, leaving one victim with a broken arm.

The Kinta civil defence force said the storm led to the roofs of several houses being blown off by strong gusts, with residents making distress calls to first-responders.

The Perak fire and rescue department said the storm also toppled several trees, with one crashing on a vehicle near the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

Two people were inside the vehicle but did not suffer any injuries.
